Appalachian Trailers offers a full line of car trailers for sale to haul one, two, three, or four cars.

Car Trailers for Sale

Our auto haulers designs are unique, effective, and user friendly! Our full lineup features ten uniquely different models to accommodate almost any car hauling need you may have. All of these can be pulled with a dually pickup.

Car Trailers for Single Vehicle Towing

Appalachian’s standard duty single car trailers are built channel frames. The 7,000 GVWR light duty has a 5″ channel frame. The 10,000 and 12,000 GVWR models have a 6″ channel frame. All these models are available with a treated wood or steel diamond plate floor. Appalachian’s professional grade single car trailer is built with an all-tubing main frame and tongue. We offer two different loading systems on this premium model. The fixed tongue version has slide-out loading ramps. The hydraulic tilt version has a fully self-contained hydraulic system – you do not need ramps to load.

Two and Three Car Tag-a-Long and Gooseneck Trailers

We offer a two car trailer in a tag-a-long and gooseneck hitch version. For three cars or two trucks, we offer our 43′ gooseneck car trailer. There is no fender interference on this trailer for loading dually trucks. One of our most popular multi-car haulers is our three car “top deck” trailer. Due to its unique design, this trailer is only 41′ overall length and is very maneuverable. Axles on all these models are 7,000 lb. capacity with premium 16″ radial tires. We also offer a dual wheel three car “step deck” that is great for hauling cars or hot-shoting general freight. This trailer has two 10,000 lb. dual wheel axles.

Car Trailers for Four Vehicles

Rounding out our multi-car hauler lineup is our four car “Micro 4”. With the top deck down, this trailer works like a wedge car hauler. It will haul two dually trucks in this configuration. With the top deck up, you have two cars on top and two on the bottom. The bottom rear deck will accommodate a larger vehicle like an SUV.

What GVWR Car Trailer Do I Need?

To determine the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) for a car trailer, you’ll need to consider a few factors:

  • Weight of the Car: Find out the weight of the car you intend to tow. This is crucial as it will determine a significant portion of the trailer’s load capacity.
  • Additional Cargo: Calculate the weight of any additional cargo or items you might carry on the trailer along with the car.
  • Safety Margin: It’s advisable to choose a trailer with a GVWR that exceeds the combined weight of your car and any additional cargo. This ensures safety and compliance with towing regulations.
  • Trailer Specifications: Check the manufacturer’s specifications for the trailer’s GVWR. This information is usually available in the trailer’s manual or specifications sheet.

For example, if your car weighs 3,000 lbs and you plan to carry another 1,000 lbs of cargo, you would need a trailer with a GVWR of at least 4,000 lbs. Always ensure your towing vehicle is rated to tow the combined weight as well.

Wooden Floor vs Diamond Floor Car Trailers

Choosing between a wooden floor and a diamond floor for your car trailer depends on your specific needs and preferences. Both options have distinct advantages that cater to different priorities:

Wood Floor Car Trailers

Wooden floor trailers are traditional and offer several benefits:

  • Cost-Effective: Generally, wooden floor trailers are more affordable upfront compared to diamond floor trailers.
  • Durability: Treated properly, wood can withstand regular use and weather conditions effectively.
  • Grip and Traction: Wood naturally provides good grip for vehicles, especially in wet conditions.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Repairs can often be done locally and at lower costs compared to more specialized diamond floor trailers.

Diamond Floor Car Trailers

Diamond floor trailers are known for their robustness and other advantages:

  • Strength and Stability: The diamond plate design provides a sturdy platform that can handle heavier loads.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Typically made from aluminum or steel, diamond floors are more resistant to rust and corrosion.
  • Easy Cleaning: The textured surface makes it easier to clean and maintain, often requiring less effort than wood.
  • Longevity: Diamond floors tend to last longer without needing replacement or extensive maintenance.
